honey house in Bacabeira (MA): a reference in the region’s agribusiness
The honey house of Bacabeira, a social business that integrates the collective Rede Mulheres do Maranhão (RMM), is today a reference in the state’s agroindustry. It was the first honey processing enterprise in Maranhão to earn the SIE seal (State Inspection Seal), with the support of workshops offered by the Vale Foundation. With that, the product could be included in the food baskets donated, in March, by the State Government to vulnerable families during the pandemic. The partnership has already secured the order of 20,000 jars of honey from the cooperative this year, which generates jobs and increases income for local families.
