With a focus on health, Vale Foundation conducts new initiatives to strengthen the SUS and SUAS in Minas Gerais

Material delivery in Rio Piracicaba on August 19th
In August, the Social Protection Health Cycle Project delivered new batches of equipment and furniture to the Municipal Departments of Health and Social Assistance/Development, to the Basic Health Units (UBS), and to the Social Assistance Reference Centers (CRAS) in the municipalities of Catas Altas and Rio Piracicaba (MG).
Donations are part of the project’s goal to strengthen Primary Care (SUS), in collaboration with Social Protection (SUAS). Furthermore, the Health Cycle also invests in ongoing education for professionals at the UBSs and CRAS, promoting a culture of integrated action between health and social development.
In 2024, two batches have already been delivered to the municipalities. In the first batch, Catas Altas received 84 items for the UBS and CRAS, while Rio Piracicaba received 343. Among the donated items were blood pressure monitors, otoscopes, portable dental office equipment, sonars, laptops, meeting tables, and chairs for patient care.

Materials donated by CSPS to Catas Altas
In this second batch, the Catas Altas Municipal Health Department received wooden screens, Mayo tables with casters, reclining chairs for medication, emergency carts, wheelchairs, and a Mobile Column Dental X-ray unit.
The CRAS was equipped with a cork bulletin board, a flexible wooden screen, a Wi-Fi router, and a 43-inch Smart TV — items that will help improve the work environment and enhance service to the community.
The municipality of Rio Piracicaba received gynecological tables and stretchers, equipment that will help expand service offerings and improve the care provided to the community.
Social Protection Health Cycle
Performed by Vale Foundation in partnership with Cedaps (Center for Health Promotion) and the municipal departments, the initiative aims to strengthen Primary Care (SUS) in coordination with Social Protection (SUAS), promoting individual and collective health and expanding access to services for families in vulnerable situations.
